Who

I work with both kids and adults, ages five and up. Many guitar teachers avoid teaching kids. Some lack formal training, some lack patience, and some just prefer the company of adults. I have an MA in Education and three years experience teaching high school students, and I love working with children.

What

I specialize in teaching beginning and intermediate guitarists who want to play folk and/or rock music on the acoustic or electric guitar. Some of my students want to be the next Ani Difranco or Jimi Hendrix, others dream of strumming John Denver tunes with their family by the campfire. My favorite artists include The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Paul Simon, U2, REM, The Indigo Girls, Lyle Lovett, Beck, The Beastie Boys, The Flaming Lips, Bjork, and Wilco. But as I mention in my teaching philosophy, I’ll teach you what you want to learn.
